This photo speaks to the heart of concerns that my friends and I have been sharing recently. Why is race seldom seen on a personal level ? You make connections with someone-black, white ,brown, Hindu, Muslim-and there is little attention given to differences. Yet, we continue to speak of “others” in a negative way.
Some of us are uncomfortable with the use of the “race card” in discussions. We choose to be deaf to situations where one race uses its power against another. Yet it happens every day in situations around the world. Why? Are we so insecure in our own skin that we distrust difference?
The beauty of embracing the other is shown here. If only.
Seems simple enough? Glad to see you are back posting!
Amen! Friend or Stranger! Wouldn’t mind having the opportunity to grasp several long-ago HPP hands. Thanks, Mike for spurring us to higher thoughts.
