“Hometowns” Across America

“Hometowns” Across America

Everybody I know has some place they call their “Hometown”. I certainly do – Mt. Pleasant, TX. “Hometowns” come in all sizes, gigantic to small and all sizes in between. My 17 plus years of traveling the highways and byways of America has afforded me many opportunities to photograph a variety of these treasured locations.

I have attempted to photograph what appeared to be the main center of activity, major traffic route, or a landscape view of these “Hometowns”.

  1. MICHAEL! I cannot believe how many places you have visited!!! Camden picture is fabulous! New York and Jackson are such a great shots. My favorites, but like them all.

  2. I can’t believe that you didn’t get that beautiful court house in Mt Pleasant in your picture!

  3. Mike, I’ve been to eleven of the capitals you have shown. May I say 50% ain’t bad for an old west coast guy like me…

  4. Enjoyed the hometowns across America! Good photos and I have actually been to several of these towns/cities!

Idea: Get some good photos of the hometowns in TX, especially those that are fading into the past…People treasure their hometowns and any photos of the now-fading, defunct towns that dot the map are sure to be noteworthy. I have a photo of a street scene in Overton, TX–where I was born–that was taken in 1928 when it was an oil field boom town! Horse drawn wagons going down the street, etc. and some of the stores we frequented when I was just a child are shown…priceless to me!! Keep up the wonderful gift you are providing! I love it!
